Some Accepted stories appearing as In Progress

In at least one of my projects, a number of stories that were accepted many years ago are showing up in the current iteration styled as if they were In Progress. The “State” field shows (for the first such story, for example) “Accepted On 2009-11-10T00:00:00.000Z”, and there isn’t a state-change button like “Finish”, but they still show up in the current iteration below the “Started”-state stories instead of the historical iteration in which they were accepted, and they are styled with the (yellow) color of in-progress stories instead of the (green) color of accepted stories.
