@-mentions don't work in story comments

I typed “@j” in a comment expecting to get the option to tab-complete either “@jorge” or “@joão”, but it doesn’t work and it didn’t even feel like they would be notified when I typed them out longhand, they didn’t seem to be detected as usernames. Clicking the “@” button at the bottom of the window didn’t do anything either.
